Dr. Heather Brandy provides full comprehensive exams as well as specialty contact lens fittings.

Dr. Brandy, while still in her teens, began her optometric career filing patient charts, performing frame selections, and teaching contact lens wearers in her hometown Optometrist’s office. Originally from Jacksonville, FL, she graduated with honors from both the University of Florida undergraduate and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. She has trained extensively in primary eye care, pediatric eye care, contact lens management including multifocal/bifocal contacts, and ocular disease diagnosis and treatment. She has managed pre-and post-operative care for cataract, glaucoma, and macular degeneration in a variety of optometric settings including the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Fort Defiance Indian Health Services Hospital, the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind, and private practices in both Florida, Pennsylvania, and California. She is the recipient of the VSP Private Practice Award, the Excellence in Low Vision Award, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Dean’s Award. She received the National Service Award in 2008 for her dedication to the American Optometric Association (AOA). Dr. Brandy is a long-time member of the American Diabetic Association (ADA), and enjoys playing outside, the beach, and traveling with her engineer husband and two young boys.
